Isabel Hill is the Director of the National Travel and Tourism Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where she supports & implements policies & programmes that foster the competitiveness of U.S. travel and tourism industries in collaboration with the private sector & other federal agencies.
A leader in tourism policy and planning, Ms. Hill led the development of the first National Travel and Tourism Strategy for the USA across 12 agencies and with the private sector and in2007 negotiations to open the market for packaged leisure travel from China to the US.
A pioneer in tourism marketing, she directed the first International Tourism Promotion Programme for the USA . The award-winning campaign demonstrated the value of promoting the USA as a travel destination, paving the way for the creation of Brand USA, the nation’s first dedicated tourism marketing organization.
